وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَهٍ غَيْرُهُ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoon(a)

Assuredly We^-SWT sent Nuh^-AS to his^-AS  people, and he^-AS said: My people! Worship Allah^-SWT , for you there is no god but He^-SWT , will you then not be God-fearing?

(23:23)

فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَوْمِهِ مَا هَذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ

Faqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum yureedu an yatafaddala AAalaykum walaw shaa Allahu laanzala malaikatan ma samiAAna bihatha fee abaina alawwaleen(a)

Then the chiefs of them who disbelieved among his^-AS people said: This is no other than a human being like you; he^-AS seeks to make himself superior to you; and if Allah^-SWT had Willed He^-AS would have sent down angels; we have not heard of this among our ancient fathers.

(23:24)

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا بِهِ حَتَّى حِينٍ

In huwa illa rajulun bihi jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihi hatta heen(in)

He^-AS is only a man in whom is madness, so wait for him^-AS a season.

(23:25)

قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ

Qala rabbi onsurnee bima kaththaboon(i)

Nuh^-AS said; Rabb^-SWT ! Vindicate me, for they are denying me.

(23:26)

فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَاء أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ فَاسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ

Faawhayna ilayhi ani isnaAAi alfulka biaAAyunina wawahyina faitha jaa amruna wafara a(l)ttannooru fa(o)sluk feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoon(a)

Then We^-SWT revealed unto him^-AS saying: Build an ark under Our^-SWT eyes and under Our^-SWT Revelation; then when Our^-SWT Command comes and oven boils over, make way therein of every pair and your^-AS household save him thereof against whom the word has already gone forth, and do not petition Me^-SWT regarding those who have done wrong, they are certain to be drowned.

(23:27)

فَإِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

Faitha istawayta anta waman maAAaka AAala alfulki faquli alhamdu lillahi allathee najjana mina alqawmi a(l)ththalimeen(a)

And when you^-AS are settled in the ark, you^-AS and those with you^-AS say you: Praise to Allah^-SWT Who has delivered us from the wrongdoing folk.

(23:28)

وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِي مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ

Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakan waanta khayru almunzileen(a)

And say you^-AS: Rabb^-SWT ! Cause me to land at a landing blessed, and You^-SWT are the Best of those who bring to land.

(23:29)

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ

Inna fee thalika laayatin wain kunna lamubtaleen(a)

Verily in that are Signs; Verily We^-SWT have ever been testing.

(23:30)

ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ

Thumma anshana min baAAdihim qarnan akhareen(a)

Then after them We^-SWT produced another generation.

(23:31)

فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِنْهُمْ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَهٍ غَيْرُهُ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Faarsalna feehim rasoolan minhum ani oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoon(a)

Then We^-SWT sent among them a Messenger^-AS from among themselves, saying! Worship Allah^-SWT , for you there is no god but He^-SWT ; will you not fear Him^-SWT ?
